FIGHT CORRUPTION

As Kenyans, we are no strangers to the rampant corruption that plagues the country. The health sector is one of the areas that has suffered greatly due to these vices, with cartels and corrupt individuals stealing from patients, healthcare providers, and even the government. It's therefore commendable to see leaders like Cs Nakhumicha take a stand against these  crimes, vowing to clean out the cartels at NHIF and Kemsa. However, as we celebrate her determination, we cannot overlook the possible challenges that she is likely to encounter in the process.

The first challenge she will face is the resistance from the cartels themselves. These groups have been known to use intimidation tactics such as blackmail, threats, and even violence to protect their interests. They will not go down without a fight, and it's likely that they will do everything within their power to sabotage Nakhumicha's efforts. She needs support from all of us.

Secondly, bureaucracy and lack of political will could hinder her progress. The health sector is plagued with a lack of transparency, and officials responsible for overseeing it are sometimes known to be corrupt. It could, therefore, take a lot of time and effort to convince these officials to work with Nakhumicha or support her mission altogether. Let's not act like we don't know our country, a good number of those officials who try to deal with corrupt leaders are oftenly wiped out of the face of the earth mysteriously... Musando's killing, remember?

Finally, the public could also pose a challenge. There are Kenyans who have gotten so used to cartels and corrupt systems that they are not sure that change is possible. This group could be hesitant to support a cause that they perceive as futile.

Cs Nakhumicha's quest to clean up the NHIF and Kemsa cartels is commendable, and we can only hope that she is successful. However, it's essential that we acknowledge the challenges that she is likely to encounter and offer our support in any way that can help. We owe it to our country to fight corruption at all levels, and this could be a significant step in the right direction.
