Take Care of Your Scalp.

Ensure you are well-hydrated by drinking an adequate amount of water daily. This helps to hydrate not only your scalp but also your entire body, promoting overall health. Choose hair products that are specifically formulated for dry scalps. Look for ingredients such as aloe vera, tea tree oil, or shea butter, which can help moisturize and soothe the scalp. Avoid using harsh chemicals or excessive heat styling, as these can further strip moisture from your scalp. Engage in regular scalp massages to stimulate blood circulation and promote the production of natural oils. Use gentle, circular motions to help distribute these beneficial oils throughout your scalp and hair. During dry seasons or in environments with low humidity, consider using a humidifier to add moisture to the air. This can help prevent excessive drying of both your skin and scalp. A dry scalp can result in itchiness, dandruff, hair thinning, and even scalp infections. By implementing proper scalp care routines and mainta...

Nurturing your Scalp

Image
A healthy scalp is the foundation for luscious, vibrant hair. Unfortunately, a dry scalp can pose several risks and become a source of discomfort and frustration for many individuals. Today let's learn about the dangers of keeping a dry scalp. courtesy of Google  One of the most common dangers of a dry scalp is persistent itchiness and irritation. When the scalp lacks sufficient moisture, it can lead to an itchy and uncomfortable sensation. This constant urge to scratch may result in small wounds or cuts on the scalp, which can potentially lead to infections or further inflammation. A dry scalp often goes hand in hand with dandruff, a condition characterized by the presence of white flakes on the scalp and within the hair. These flakes can be embarrassing and impact self-confidence. Additionally, the presence of dandruff can exacerbate itchiness and intensify the uncomfortable feeling associated with a dry scalp. FIGHT CORRUPTION

As Kenyans, we are no strangers to the rampant corruption that plagues the country. The health sector is one of the areas that has suffered greatly due to these vices, with cartels and corrupt individuals stealing from patients, healthcare providers, and even the government. It's therefore commendable to see leaders like Cs Nakhumicha take a stand against these  crimes, vowing to clean out the cartels at NHIF and Kemsa. However, as we celebrate her determination, we cannot overlook the possible challenges that she is likely to encounter in the process. The first challenge she will face is the resistance from the cartels themselves. These groups have been known to use intimidation tactics such as blackmail, threats, and even violence to protect their interests. They will not go down without a fight, and it's likely that they will do everything within their power to sabotage Nakhumicha's efforts. She needs support from all of us. Secondly, bureaucracy and lack of political wi...

THE CHILD OF NOBODY

Image
courtesy of Google  Street children in Kenya face a lot of challenges in their lives. They are often seen sleeping on street corners and begging for food and money from people passing by. According to Shine His Light Director of Programme, a national initiative is needed to rescue, rehabilitate, prevent, and restore street children, as well as help them become productive members of society. The challenges faced by street children in Kenya are rooted in poverty, poor living conditions, abuse, and neglect. Many of these children come from broken or impoverished homes and are forced to fend for themselves on the streets. They are vulnerable to exploitation by adults who take advantage of their situation by using them for child labor or sex work. In Mombasa there's this great philanthropist Hasu Patel of Mombasa Cement who has been doing his very best to ensure that street children are fed he goes an extra mile to educate some of them. The other day the government was in a ...

CREDIBILITY IN JOURNALISM

Credibility in journalism is the cornerstone of the profession. The quality of information that journalists provide has a deep impact on society. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that journalists adhere to ethical principles and maintain credibility through their work. Objectivity is one of the means in which credibility can be attained in journalists. Journalists must strive for objectivity in their reporting. This means presenting all sides of a story, even if they do not align with the journalist's personal views. Objectivity allows the audience to form their own opinions based on the facts presented. As a journalist you are not allowed to take sides. Journalists are supposed to be accurate and so we talk about accuracy. Everything you report as a journalist should be based on facts and the facts should be true not the cooked and marinated ones otherwise you will mislead a whole nation if you give false information and then we know what happens... Shimo la Tewa or Kamiti can...

THE BILL

The finance bill in kenya has elicited mixed reactions. Lots of people view it as a burden added to the already tired 'wanjiku' who not only can afford to put food on the table but also cannot afford the basic commodities. There are some of us who are supporting the bill and view it as a heaven on earth idea that should be passed to unhook Kenyans from their daily troubles .  President William Ruto says the bill is set to address challenges facing ordinary Kenyans . Will the kenyans view it on the President's perspective? How many people view this as a job creation opportunity? Does it have more advantages than the disadvantages or its vise versa? The new Finance bill 2023 has proposed an increase in taxes in major fields including fuel prices to have an increase in VAT of 16%from 8%. The content creation industry also will have themselves  being taxed 15% if the said bill is passed.  The opposition hasn't taken it lightly. The opposition leader has mobilised his legisl...

CURB CORRUPTION

Ensuring clean tender issuance in Kenyan parastatals requires a comprehensive approach that promotes transparency, accountability, and fair competition. Let's talk about the  3.7 Billion cash mismanagement that made the world Bank  withdraw the tender to the KemSa body which would have generated lots of revenue to the country. One can ask themselves who is really responsible to make the government parastatals to work ?what can be done to minimise the corruption cases witnessed around this state parastatals? Alot needs to be done to gain trust of the donors and lots more who can help with Grant's loans and even sponsorships. Establish Clear Guidelines and Policies: Develop clear and policies for tender issuance. These should outline the criteria, procedures, and evaluation methods to be followed. Ensure that the guidelines align with existing laws and regulations governing public procurement in Kenya. Enhance Transparency: Foster transparency throughout the tendering process. P...

EYE OF THE PEOPLE

The media plays a vital role in fighting for the welfare of the citizens of Kenya. I can not imagine Kenya without the media,I mean the several wonders that the media has been able to expose is dumbfounding. Through their reporting, journalists are able to expose injustices done by those in power and they give a voice to the voiceless. One of the most significant examples of this is the Shakahola massacre. Over five hundred bodies have been exhumated from Shakahola and that's just a figure given to the media, are you convinced that the government is telling us the truth? Or maybe do you think it is just the controversial pastor Paul Mackenzie involved? As for me I still have questions but then the media has done it's best in exposing the dirty work at Shakahola that would have been swept under the rug . Let's talk about the demonstrations that were led by the Azimio la Umoja leader,Raila Odinga that were actually supposed to be peaceful but then what happened? The police happ...

FREEDOM OF PRESS

Image
Media houses have been denied freedom ever since the new government came into power. Freedom of the press is the fundamental principle that communication and expression through various media, including printed and electronic media, especially published materials, should be considered a right to be exercised freely.media freedom has been deteriorating around the world over the past decade Kenya not excluded.  Courtesy of Google. The fundamental freedom to read and disseminate information through an independent press is under attack and part of the attacks have recently come from unexpected leaders . The elected leaders have made efforts to silence media sources which try to put them accountable for their deeds. The recent attacks by the Trade Cabinet secretary Moses Kuria on the Nation Media House is one of the recent highlighted infringements on press freedom.   The Cs has been under sharp criticism after he attacked the Nation Media Group (NMG), labelling their jo...

THE CHARITY GIANT ROW.

It has always been said, charity begins at home and true to the talking, the famous Mombasa Cement philanthropist Hasu Patel has been living that saying for years. To Mombasa residents and those who frequently visit this 'Sun city', the beautiful sculptures of Elephants and Buffaloes that sit in almost all CBD roundabouts are not a new thing in their eyes. Just to mention a few activities this kind hearted philanthropist has been doing, we can all say without fear of contradiction that his efforts have transformed the looks of the once dirty city of Mombasa. Do you remember the famous Kibarani dumpsite? On your way to Changamwe after Makupa roundabout?? Well it's through his efforts that we can now proudly say that Kibarani has a beautiful park. Thanks to him Those are just a few beautification programmes that this sponsor has been doing in his home county...Let's not talk about the perimeter walls he has been building in every police station and some schools. Can we all...

My Attachment Experience

Industrial attachment is a vital part of a course that every student needs so that they can be prepared for the real work once they are done with the course. I got a chance at Msenangu fm,one of the most popular radio stations in coast. My first day was quite smooth since it was all about orientation and getting familiar with everyone. "Good morning,I am Justice Lang'at and I am the head of content in this place, feel at home and cooperate with your leaders in the news room" Mr. Lang'at said. I gave my appreciation and disappeared to the news room since I wasn't really comfortable standing before the boss who was looking straight into my eyes. The next day I was the early bird at work and I was determined to face the day with so much zeal and enthusiasm. I sat for the editorial meeting which was meant to be done every morning and to my utter surprise, everyone on the table was giving out a story idea and then there was me,very clueless. "Young girl say somethi...
