THE CHILD OF NOBODY
The challenges faced by street children in Kenya are rooted in poverty, poor living conditions, abuse, and neglect. Many of these children come from broken or impoverished homes and are forced to fend for themselves on the streets. They are vulnerable to exploitation by adults who take advantage of their situation by using them for child labor or sex work.
In Mombasa there's this great philanthropist Hasu Patel of Mombasa Cement who has been doing his very best to ensure that street children are fed he goes an extra mile to educate some of them. The other day the government was in a row with him but I hope that he hasn't stopped helping the street children and the needy families at large.
Apart from Hasu Patel we have the famous televangelist, Pastor Ezekiel Odero who is another generous man who has ensured that the street children get food. He's been feeding and educating a good number of them. The best we can do is encourage such people. They're a rare gem.
It is essential for the media and government to come together to help these children. The media can play a significant role in raising awareness about the struggles street children face in Kenya. I'm glad that the media teams in Kenya are doing their best by bringing to our notice the struggling children. By shedding light on their plight, the media can help create an environment that is more conducive to action. Meanwhile, the government can provide the necessary resources to ensure that these children are given access to food, shelter, education, and healthcare.

To help in this initiative, the government could work with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to set up drop-in centers where street children can receive basic needs like food, shelter, and medical attention. The government could also ensure that street children have access to education and vocational training so that they can become self-sufficient and productive members of society.
It is crucial for everyone to come together to help street children in Kenya, particularly the media and government. Through a collaborative effort, it is possible to create a better future for these children, where they can live in dignity and have access to basic human rights like shelter, education, and healthcare.
